Deadly Obsession

Available February 19, 2016

Thank you to NetGalley.com and to the publisher for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

After reading heavy book after heavy book, I needed this. Nigel May has the potential to fill the smut writing shoes of Jackie Collins. His latest adventure was heavy on the suspense, the drama, the danger and the uber-descriptive bedroom scenes. Just may need a tall glass of cold water to cool down before moving on to the next book.

What I loved: The suspense as Amy tries to untangle the mess that is her life, she changes from a naïve idiot to a strong woman who fights for what she believes in. Thank goodness she does; she was beginning to be one of the world’s biggest doormats for all of the people who thought so little of her.

What I didn’t love: There would be a scene where Amy was reminiscing, and it would basically be about her remembering her own sex life. After a while, it seemed like her marriage was based on sex, shopping, and spas - not a horrible way to live, but then you don’t wonder why everyone thought she was an idiot.

What I learned: When in doubt, dance.

Overall Grade: B+
